The main thing that comes to mind when I think about my Uncle Chuck is music. He was always, always singing, and always seemed to have a guitar in his hand. He had a beautiful voice and could sing a sad song that would bring tears to your eyes, or could sing a funny song that would make you roll your eyes with laughter. Two of my favorite photos, me and my Uncle Chuck in 1977: It was always a treat when Uncle Chuck and Aunt Marie would visit, sometimes bringing along their grandaughter Gina, who was my age....what fun we had playing! And Chuck and Marie would bicker and argue so much you'd think they'd come to blows, but then one of them would wink at you out of the corner of their eye to let you know they were mostly teasing each other. Their bickering was even immortalized by Chuck writing a song about it, "Chuck You Didn't Do This," that would have everyone laughing. Uncle Chuck wasn't afraid to tell you his opinion on anything, which sometimes called for embarassed looks among whoever was with him at the time, but he'll be remembered more for his loving humor and kind smiles than his outspoken views. He always had a bear hug ready for you, and seemed to light up with an inner joy that came through in his smiles and music.
