My earliest memories of Aunt Lela are from the house in town at Loup City. I loved going to visit and playing with all the toys on the front porch, and I remember being fascinated with her kitchen in the back of the house. One clear memory from that house is of sitting down to dinner and she had some type of red jelly in a glass dish that was the best jelly I had ever tasted in my life! After she moved to Kearney, just two blocks north of where my parents live, I had more frequent contact with her and am able to see her at more get togethers. Always soft spoken, she has a mind like a steel trap and can remember details from her life (not only hers, but other people's lives as well) that astound me. I love to sit and listen to her tell stories....which will lead into other stories.....that lead into other stories....
